Metro Elevator sells industrial lifts ready for delivery and installation anywhere in the world. Most of our industrial lift installations are for permanent installations. However, there are specific makes and models which we can install and dismantle for temporary purposes such as planned maintenance on an electric power plant or turnaround project for an oil refinery. For temporary applications, our service territory includes all states in both the United States and Canada. Our corporate headquarters is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and we employ personnel in Denver, CO and Pittsburgh, PA.
About Our Industrial Lifts
Our Industrial Lifts are designed to transport personnel, equipment, and materials for industrial facilities on either a temporary or permanent basis. We have models which are ideal for temporary applications while others are designed specifically for permanent applications. Many of our industrial customers need cost comparisons between a permanent verses temporary installation. Metro will help you determine whether or not a permanent installation make the most economic sense from a total cost of ownership perspective.
We offer many types of industrial lifts. They can be for material-only or for both personnel and materials ranging in lift capacities ranging from 1,000 to 8,000 lbs. We offer lifts designed to carry as few as 3 men or as many as 40 men depending on the application it will be used for.
Our larger 6,000 to 8,000 lb. industrial lifts for which we typically lease can have either single or twin cages which move vertically along mast tower sections regardless of structure height. The mast sections are attached to the structure every 25 to 30 feet via a standard or specially designed tie-in. The cars for twin industrial lifts can operate independently while using the same mast sections. This eliminates or reduces wait times for men and materials and thereby improving worker productivity.
Most makes and models of our industrial lifts use a motor, brake and gear box with a rack-and-pinion system that climbs the mast sections at various speeds. Lifting speeds vary depending on the lift. We offer industrial lifts that can travel up to 300 feet per minute. The lifts with the highest speeds are typically for the tallest of structures.
Our industrial lifts can equipped with variable frequency drives (VFD). VFD lifts provide a much smoother ride and greatly reduce the chance for mechanical breakdown due to wear and tear on working parts. VFD’s also eliminate the need to “jog” hoist up and down because of their exceptional leveling accuracy. Permanent installations will always use VFD’s and have automatic controls thereby eliminating the need for a trained operator. In other words, it’s no different that your typical commercial elevator with regards to self-operation.
